Brent Voepel

Brent graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Missouri, with a strong emphasis in Marketing. Brent’s career started in the marketing industry where he handled major brands and accounts for the advertising agencies he worked for.

From doing advertising full time, Brent slowly positioned himself in the real estate world, purchasing his first investment property in 2005 and immediately starting a property management company to handle operations.

In 2012, Brent quit his job in advertising, leveraged his marketing background and began accumulating and managing many properties throughout the KC metro. Growth was swift, so he implemented software and proceeded to hire and build out the team. By 2015, the business was to a point where he opened real estate offices in Waldo and founded Canopy Road Real Estate, a brokerage that specialized in investor acquisitions.

Between 2015 and 2023, Brent and his companies were on Ingram’s 100 Fastest Growing Kansas City companies five times, which was a great honor for him and his team. He opened new offices in Grandview, MO to support this growth and generated new revenue centers around handling maintenance, project management, and lawncare. At one point, Voepel Property Management was one of the largest 3rd party property managers in the United States by managing over 1250 rental units.

In February of 2024, Brent sold Voepel Property Management and Canopy Road through a merger with Auben Realty, out of Charleston, SC. This was a successful exit for Brent and his family, and has allowed him to transition to a new role with Compass Realty. As an Associate Broker here, Brent will use his 20+ years of real estate knowledge to continue to help investors with their portfolios. He is focused on helping them grow and optimize, or sale assets as needed. In addition to helping other investors, Brent also manages his rental properties directly with his family and continues to stay active in the business community throughout Kansas City.
